About the band
Blue Apollo is an upcoming band based out of Dallas, Texas that was initially formed by Luke Nassar and Jeremiah Jensen while studying at Southern Methodist University’s Meadows School of the Arts. The pair first discovered their musical chemistry after a few acoustic performances and began writing together in the summer of 2014. After a few YouTube covers and various writing sessions, they soon added Rodman Steele into the mix, rounding out the band's trio of infectious harmonies and memorable sound.
Blue Apollo brings together a wide variety of influences from John Mayer to Stevie Wonder, creating new sounds by combining the emotion of a singer-songwriter and the grit of a rock n roll guitarist. Together, with the smooth vocals from Nassar and the groove of Steele and Jensen’s rhythm section, Blue Apollo delivers a dynamic and infectious performance that audiences across all ages can enjoy.
The band released their first studio EP in April 2016, followed by two singles, "Bite the Bullet" and "Circles" in the summer of 2017. Blue Apollo has played a variety of shows throughout the year, including two shows with NBC's The Voice alum, Taylor Phelan and Tinderbox Music's Red Gorilla Music Festival during the music portion of SXSW.
